A Texas A&M student and his friend remained jailed Sunday after authorities said they found the pair driving a stolen motorized chair down the southwest ramp of Kyle Field during the Kansas State game.
Nathan Randall Arriens, a 19-year-old listed in A&M’s directory as a freshman, and Houston resident Matthew Lawrence Hogue, 20, were arrested after a University Police Department officer spotted the two riding the chair down the ramp, according to court documents.
A man reported his disabled wife’s chair stolen to an usher on the second level of Kyle Field. The chair is worth about $3,500. Hogue told authorities that they took the chair because Arriens was “too drunk to walk on his own,” court records state.
The two were charged with theft of an item between $1,500 and $20,000 and were charged with failing to properly identify themselves when asked by police.
